Exhibition Signage

The Problem:

This project is centered around arranging text in an interesting way to create signage for the Lower your Expectations exhibition in the Bethel University Olsen gallery.

The Solution:

I began working to solve this problem by doing initial research about the artists involved in the show; Ashley Peifer and Laura Wennstrom and the work that they would be showing at the exhibition. From there I created some initial ideation arranging the text in interesting ways and integrating elements and themes from the exhibition artwork into the signage which led me to my final three designs. They are centered around the playful energy, color palette, and shapes within the artwork itself while also maintaining a sense of professionalism with the use of a clean sans serif typeface that was arranged using a careful grid system.
