Bedding Design

The Problem:

In this project, I am working to solve the problem of creating a unique, playful, and elevated set of patterns for a spring bedding collection. Each set of patterns is targeted towards a separate audience; adults, teens, and kiddos. Making each set different and yet all speaking towards the springtime theme.

The Solution:

I began by doing individual visual research about trends and my own brainstorming on topic themes for each set for the individual age groups. Leaning on more playful illustrations for the kids bedding and then more sleek and elegant colors and styles for the adult designs. From there I began sketching and creating imagery physically with pencil and paint. I find working physically when designing patterns bring a more handmade quality of the designs that make the patterns feel more real and even cozy, which is very important for bedding. In the end I created three beautiful pattern sets for each age group that I feel uniquely represent springtime in a fun and fresh way.
