Social Cause App Design

The Problem:

Within this project, I was working to solve the problem that young adults need naturally forming mentorship but feel like they don't have the tools or space to find that relationship.

The Solution:

In order to work on solving this problem I began by working through some research: using self-documentation interviews, expert interviews, and anonymous surveys. The research then led me to solidify the problem statement above; that young adults crave mentorship but don't feel like they have the space to find those relationships. From there I brainstormed some possible solutions to the problem. Which led me to my final solution; an app called WEB. WEB is an all-in-one space for the natural development of professional and life mentor+ mentee relationships. Giving young adults the confidence and tools for maintaining and developing successful mentorships. From there I got to work on the visual brainstorming and research. I defined the look and feel through three adjectives; structured, calm, and uplifting, which I translated into mood boards. From there I created brand guidelines and a design for the interface and final presentation.  I believe WEB begins to solve the problem of working to build confidence and help young adults feel more prepared and at ease within adulthood even if they were not given the tools or taught earlier in their life. As well as being a great tool and jumping-off point for deeper and more honest connections with others in their community in the hope that both the mentor and mentee can learn something from each other.
